Is this the future of TV?

TV which you can stop and play at any time you like. I guess the idea has been around for a while and is already reality online, however in Germany it's now becoming reality with mainstream television.
Now you can stop all tv programs, do whatever you have to and then come back and conitnue the show. Makes sense and in my mind has a great future, especially when tv and internet intregate more.
